Mac Mini I5 Logic Pro X

broken image

Hi I currently have a Mid 2011 Macbook Pro 13' with 16GB 1600Mhz RAM and a 500GB Hybrid Solid State Drive. I use Logic Pro X heavily to the point where I get crazy CPU spikes and cant work with Logic Pro smoothly anymore. (Note: I only have around almost 20 tracks and I get these spikes, I've been doing much research to reduce this but still no luck.) I can't work with freezing tracks as well due to the Logic Pro X bug that unfreezes all the frozen tracks when pressing CMD+Z. How to make adobe acrobat pro default on mac. Now I really think I need to upgrade my mac. I'd want to save as much money as I can so I was thinking of the 2.3Ghz quad core i7 Mac Mini?

Re: Logic Pro X On Mac Mini or Macbook Pro Tue Apr 19, 2016 11:19 pm Having worked inside of Apple off-and-on a few times over the years, I can attest that they have a lot of Mac Mini's that they use as internal testing servers.

  1. Base Model i3 enough for Logic Pro X? Hey, I was looking to see if I could get an answer regarding some music recording. I am on a tighter budget, but want a Mac OS system, so I was looking into the Mac Mini.
  2. Oct 22, 2013 The 3rd gen i7 (current Mac Mini) seems only about 5% faster than the 4th gen i5 (current iMac), and that certainly couldn't make Logic that much more powerful. But then again, when someone says that hyperthreading makes a BIG difference for cpu intensive synths like Diva, i'm not going to ignore that.

What difference does the regular Mac mini make with the mac mini with the OSX Server? Do you think the $799 mac mini, when paired with a 16GB 1600Mhz ram and a 7200rpm HD work wonders for me in my music dream? Should I still go for the macbook pros. As far as portability, I think both are portable and I won't have any problem with both. When it comes to the screen, and keyboard and mouse, I have no problem in buying them individually. All I really care about is if it could handle what I want it to do at the cheapest price possible. I can't move away from the mac beacause Logic Pro X is pulling my leg.

If you guys have any recommendations please feel free to comment.

Thank you very much 🙂

Mac Mini I5 Logic Pro X 10 5

Hi everyone. I have Logic Pro 9 on my 2009 Mac mini here, and it runs all right for the most part, but there have been times when the program would get bogged down. Oddly enough I don't experience this problem when I run other DAWs on here, like Reason. Anyway, I'm thinking of upgrading to Logic Pro X, but I'm not sure because 9 seems good enough for me, and it's unfortunate that there is no upgrade discount. Still, it's very tempting. Do you think Logic Pro X would run all right on this machine? This Mac mini has a 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of RAM. I have 55 GB of free space left, but of course I'm sure I could reclaim some of that by uninstalling Logic Pro 9, and I also have external storage to store virtual instruments and loops and stuff.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
